Sleep deprivation is a state that is caused by an inadequate amount of sleep. Sleep deprivation has severe effects on mental and physical health. A lack of sleep can lead to mental health issues such as anxiety or depression. Chronic sleep deprivation can also lead to heart problems and issues within your brain, immune system, nervous system, and metabolic systems. Despite how common sleep deprivation is within society, not many people talk about it nor do they realize what is causing it.
